The Role


The Adult Competition Intern will serve as a strategic contributor to the Adult Competition Team, supporting core initiatives such as USTA Adult Leagues, Tournaments, Tennis on Campus, and Red Ball Tennis. This role offers comprehensive exposure to program operations, providing the intern with the platform to deliver high-impact contributions across the USTA’s adult competitive portfolio.

 

  • Tennis on Campus (TOC) Expansion: Assist in developing and implementing growth strategies to increase student participation and club tennis engagement across collegiate campuses.
  • Red Ball Tennis Innovation: Coordinate the continued rollout of Red Ball Tennis programs in non-traditional spaces (e.g., breweries, corporate campuses, or multi-sport facilities) to lower barriers to entry for new players.
  • USTA Flex Growth Strategy: Support the scaling of USTA Flex Leagues by identifying untapped markets and drafting localized outreach plans to attract self-scheduled competitive players.
  • Digital Content Management: Assist in maintaining and updating the Adult Competition sections of the USTA website, ensuring all program information, resources, and schedules are accurate and engaging.
  • National Championship Support: Execute project-based tasks for League National Championships, including logistics planning, player communications, and on-site operational deliverables.

 

Program details:

  • 8-week program from June 9 through August 11

  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM ET

  • Hybrid role requiring 3 days per week on-site at our Orlando office.

  • Compensation: $16.00 per hour

Who You Are

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.

  • A keen interest in event planning, sports operations, and the tennis industry.

  • Attention to detail and a problem-solving attitude, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
