The Role
The Senior Manager, Adult Tournaments, provides strategic direction and operational oversight for the USTA Adult Tournament portfolio and ITF Masters Tour United States teams. This role serves as the primary national lead for Adult Tournaments, ensuring alignment with the Adult Competition Strategic Plan as it relates to Project 35x35 while fostering collaboration across USTA Sections, committees, and international governing bodies.
Strategic Leadership & Program Management
● Execute the Adult Competition Strategic Plan with a focus on Project 35x35, Open Circuit engagement for high-performance players (ITA/Team USA), NTRP Tournaments, and the USTA Masters Tour.
● Drive growth initiatives across NTRP, WTN, and unsanctioned tournament formats in direct collaboration with USTA Sections and the Director of Adult Competition.
● Optimize the national tournament lifecycle, including sanctioning, scheduling, site selection, and the execution of legal agreements and approvals.
● Manage the NTRP National Championships and the USTA Masters Championships, overseeing site selection, player eligibility/selection, and regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement & Committee Liaison
● Serve as the primary National point of contact for all USTA Adult Tournaments and the ITFMasters Tour in the United States.
● Act as Staff Liaison to the Adult Competition and Senior International Selection Committees, ensuring committee alignment with USTA Adult Competition Strategic Plan and Project 35x35.
● Lead all national tournament meetings, including monthly staff calls, committee meetings, and in-person workshops.
● Foster external partnerships with key organizations such as the ITF, NWTO, NMTA, and the ITA.
Operations & Quality Control
● Ensure operational excellence by conducting site visits and maintaining rigorous quality control standards for National Tournament Directors.
● Uphold regulatory integrity by ensuring all events adhere to USTA Adult & Family Regulations and Procedures.
● Provide technical subject matter expertise on the Serve Tennis and Serve Control platforms to support tournament directors and ensure system functionality.
● Supervise and develop the Coordinator of USTA Adult Tournaments through regular performance reviews and mentorship.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
● Partner with Marketing, Digital, and Communications to enhance engagement and streamline messaging for tournament directors and participants.
● Maintain fiscal responsibility by managing departmental budgets and tracking performance reports for all adult programs and international team initiatives.
● Serve on the NTRP and WTN Operations Teams to integrate technical ratings into the national tournament ecosystem.

The expected range for the annual base salary for this position is $80,000 - 90,000. This role is eligible for an Incentive Compensation Plan (ICP) bonus up to 5%. This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify. The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
